Hariyali Chicken I Saagwale Chicken




Ingredients:
  • Chicken cut into pieces -500 grms
  • Oil -3 tbsp
  • Spinach  1 bunch, 
  • Green chilli as per taste 
  • Cilantro or mint 1 bunch
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Bay leaf - 2 nos
  • Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp
  • Onion chopped- 1
  • Tomatoes chopped -1
  • Salt To taste
  • Garam masala powder -1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder -½ tsp
  • Turmeric powder -1tsp
  • Coriander powder -1tsp
  • Lemon wedges For garnish
Method:


  • Wash the spinach thoroughly and boil in its own water. Leave spinach to cool.
  • In a grinding bowl add boiled spinach, green chillies, cilantro and mint leaves. Grind all together into a fine paste.
  • Heat the oil and add cumin, when it splutters, add bay leaf, , and sauté for ½ mint
  • Add onions and sauté till soft. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté. Then add chopped tomatoes and sauté well.
  • Add the chicken over high heat and turn around till opaque.
  • Add the salt, garam masala and the red chilli powder. Coriander powder, turmeric powder and stir till well mixed
  • Add spinach and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  • Adjust the thickness of the gravy  as per your taste.
  • Remove it in a serving bowl and serve hot.
